I have been in management for ten years – since I was 19 years old. I decided I wanted to pursue my degree.
I enrolled in my degree program in 2018 and had to postpone it shortly after. I had just taken over my first Bucky's store and was working 54 hours a week. I didn't want to jeopardize my education and I didn't want to jeopardize my job either.
In August of 2019, Bucky's began its partnership with Bellevue University to offer education as a benefit to their employees. When I called to re-enroll, the process was completed by the end of the day. Even more, my cosmetology license counted for all my elective classes!
Don't tell yourself you can't do it. Take your time, ask questions... and never give up on your dreams.
When I ended the fall semester with a 4.0, I was shocked! Being able to pursue my degree online is outstanding and works with my schedule. I couldn't be happier with the courses and the support I get from my professors.
My husband and all of my family support me and tell me that I excel in all that I do. That helps a lot. Don't underestimate yourself. Don't tell yourself you can't do it. Take your time, ask questions when you don't know the answer, and never give up on your dreams.
I'm currently in my first semester of the Business cohort and I am so excited! Not only that, but I got a promotion with Bucky's and I'm now a Territory Manager overseeing 10 locations!
The cohort schedule – one class every six weeks – is working great with my busy work schedule. My grades are still where they should be. I'm so happy I picked a school that supports me the way Bellevue University does. You guys rock.
